What is CBD? CBD stands for Cannabidiol

The CBD found in hemp oil is quickly becoming the focus of widespread medical and scientific research. CBD is the single most prominent naturally-occurring cannabinoid component found in industrial hemp plants.

Cannabidiol is “a cannabinoid devoid of psychoactive effect,” meaning that you will not become intoxicated if you consume CBD. After THC (Δ9-tetrahydrocannabinol), hemp CBD is by far the most studied natural cannabinoid. According to many researchers, CBD may be the single most important cannabinoid ever discovered, and might have great potential when it comes to increasing vitality in both animals and humans.

According to the National Institutes of Health (NIH), CBD is defined as follows:

“Cannabidiol (CBD) is the major non-psychotropic cannabinoid compound derived from the plant Cannabis sativa, commonly known as marijuana. CBD was first isolated in 1940 and its structure and stereochemistry determined in 1963 [1,2]. Interest in exploiting CBD therapeutically was initially focused on its interactions with the primary psychotropic ingredient of Cannabis, Δ9-THC and its sedative and antiepileptic effects, and later its antipsychotic and anxiolytic actions and utility in treating movement disorders [3]. As chronicled elsewhere [3], the last several years have seen a renewed interest in CBD due to the discovery of its antioxidative, anti-inflammatory, and neuroprotective effects, actions that occur for the most part independently of the canonical cannabinoid CB1 and CB2 receptors [1,4]. CBD may prove to have therapeutic utility in a number of conditions involving both inflammation and oxidative stress, including Parkinson’s disease, diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, Alzheimer’s disease, and ischemia-reperfusion injury.”

How do I use the Tincture?

Simply fill the dropper and squirt the contents under your tongue, wait 90 seconds before swallowing. By placing under the tongue CBD gets absorbed directly into the bloodstream via the capillary blood vessels.

Which CBD Serving Size is right for me?

Our most common serving size is 20 drops (1 full dropper) once a day, but we generally recommend exploring to see exactly what works best for you.

Some people will start out with 5 drops (1/4 of a dropper) for the first week. Then increase by 5 drops (1/4 of a dropper) daily for additional 7 days. This process will continue until you reach your desired results. Most people see best results around 10 drops twice a day, but for more severe conditions you may have to work up to 20 drops twice a day. Place CBD Oil drops under the tongue and hold them there for 90 seconds for best absorption. By placing under the tongue CBD gets absorbed directly into the bloodstream via the capillary blood vessels.

NOTE: Consult your physician before taking any new dietary supplements. Must be 18+ years older to consume.

Isolate VS Full Spectrum

Whole-plant products are also referred to as broad or full spectrum extracts. Both refer to the fact that the final product will contain all of the beneficial component found in the natural plant. If you’re using cannabis for medical purposes you’re better off with a whole plant product to ensure you aren’t missing any of the potential benefits the plant has to offer.

Our Grandma’s Hemp products are made with full spectrum CBD oil that are rich in cannabinoids, terpenes, and other beneficial oils. The Hadassah Medical School at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem sought to compare the effectiveness of a completely purified CBD extract versus a full-spectrum extract of cannabis flowers containing large quantities of CBD. The conclusion of the study was that the whole plant extract, which contained a large percentage of CBD but also contained traces of the other cannabinoids, proved far more effective than CBD-only solutions in alleviating inflammation and pain sensation.

The DEA has no authority to regulate drugs that are not scheduled..”

What is MCT Oil?

MCT oil is the most efficient way to consume CBD oil so the cannabinoids interact with the body quickly and easily. Medium chain triglycerides, or MCTs, are medium-length fatty acid chains.

Our MCT is harvested from 100% coconuts, and processed for purity. Unlike most other brands that harvest MCT’s from palm oil, (a much cheaper and environmentally taxing source), by using pure coconut oil we also deliver approximately 30% Lauric Acid, an important form of MCT that acts as a slower burning fuel source. This is an excellent complement to the faster burning C8 and C10 chains (38% and 31% respectively), allowing for a longer energy curve and an optimized digestive experience. In addition, Lauric Acid is a raw source material for the production of monolaurin, a potent nutrient not often found in the normal diet. Monolaurin is actually found naturally occurring in human breast milk and is seldom found in the normal diet.
